Whenever I go somewhere, I always make searches online, however I hardly ever find good source of information about the city I want to visit. I prefer blogs, because they always give me personal prospective. Forget the travel guide books, as they want to promote everything possible, even places that are not even worth googling on google maps…
I have spent in Dublin 2 months and I can say I know this city quite well and belongs to my favorite spots on my travel list.
Here we go……….
Famous Temple Bar
Temple Bar is worth seeing and taking a picture in front of it. In my opinion its overrated and there are better bars than this one + less crowded. Be prepared for higher prices, I would not recommend this places for drinks as its too commercial.
2. Take a run to a Phoenix Park
If you like running/jogging Phoenix park is the perfect park for performing this activity. In case you are not passionate about this I would at least recommend to have a walk in this beautiful area.
3. Network coffee shop
If you are tired from walking around the city and want to enjoy good quality coffee, go to Network coffee shop. I had my first flat white in my life in this lovely coffee place.
The cafe’s interior is minimalist and energising. The staff is always smiling and making the best coffee in the town by far. I went to this little coffee shop couple time while staying in Dublin.
You can also choose from variety of sandwiches which are going to persuade you to come back again. I am not a sweet tooth person but I believe those who love pastry and sweet stuff will be delighted as well, because this coffee place offers sweet option too….
I just love Howth. You can easily take a train and spend there whole afternoon. Howth is a charming town just on the edge of Ireland. The train goes from O Connely train station and takes you directly to Howth at the cost of 6 euros (round trip). Howths offers beautiful views and breathtaking nature.
PS: Be prepared, it can start raining at any time 😀
5. Dundrum shopping centre
If you love to shop, you should visit this massive shopping center. How to get to Dundrum ? You can get the tram from city centre that will take you to this huge shopping mall. Dundrum is a brilliant shopping area – a huge range of shops all under the one roof!! You can spend a whole day here, without having to leave for food. Would definitely recommend for a day out shopping!!
6. Irish Museum of Modern Art
Museum of Art is set in a gorgeous location.Go on a Tuesday when all Museum exhibitions are free. Mixed media, main exhibition video based. Not very large. Additional exhibitions charged. After walking around the museum you can grab a snack and drink a coffee in a local coffee. I definitely recommend this place to Modern art lovers.
7. The Church
The Church is absolutely one of my fav bars/restaurant in Dublin. When visiting this unique place you will be definitely amazed by its amazing transformation from church to bar. If you are lucky enough and if there is a bit of Irish sunshine you can use the seating area outside of the restaurant and get some Irish sunburn 😀 . They also do live bands, music sounds great…… its a former church 🙂
